iPhone Update: Arrived in Clermont

Posted on February 1, 2011

I’m happy to report that I’ve successfully (and safely) completed the three day drive to my temporary new home in Clermont, FL. I hit the road Sunday afternoon and drove for a little over 8 hours.

I rolled into Washington DC a little past 11 PM and then was up at 7:30 AM the next morning to get in a workout at the Woodrow Wilson Aquatic Center. It was an awesome facility but expensive – $7 to get in plus 7 minutes per quarter for parking!

I drove for over 10 hours on Monday and made it just south of Savannah, Georgia. Finally, this morning I got through the final 4 hours and made it to Clermont. I drove straight to the NTC and got in a 3k swim. After that I headed over to Vacation Village to check out my living quarters for the next few months. It was interesting 🙂 it’s small and kind of looks like it’s falling apart. But it is in an awesome training location, and that’s why I’m here.

After unpacking I went for an easy hour bike and an awesome 40 minute run on these ideal clay trails that are nearby. The weather is great, the training is awesome, and I’m looking forward to the next few months!
